Job Duties:

The Solar Energy Purchasing Associate will play a critical role in sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services for solar energy projects. This position involves collaborating with suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory, and ensuring that our projects have the necessary resources to succeed while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Management:

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of solar energy products and services, including panels, inverters, mounting systems, batteries, and installation services.

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and quality service.

Purchasing Strategy:

-Collaborate with the project management team to understand procurement needs and develop a comprehensive purchasing strategy that aligns with project timelines and budgets.
-Analyze market trends and pricing to inform purchasing decisions.

Contract Negotiation:

-Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous contracts.
-Prepare and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Inventory Management:

-Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites.
-Develop inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.

Cost Analysis:

-Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
-Prepare reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and inventory status for management review.

Regulatory Compliance:

-Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to solar energy procurement.
-Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with relevant laws and company policies.

Collaboration:

-Work closely with the engineering and project management teams to ensure that all technical specifications are met with purchased materials.
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address any procurement-related issues and implement solutions.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
-2-4 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
-Knowledge of solar energy products and technologies is highly desirable.
-Strong negotiation and communication skills.
-Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
