Overview:
We’re seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Claims Billing and claims Specialist to support our physical therapy operations. This remote role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in billing, payment posting, and accounts receivable (AR) management — especially within physical therapy practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submit accurate and timely physical therapy claims for physical therapy services to Workers’ Compensation, No-Fault, and commercial health insurance plans
- Ensure claims are sent out daily with accuracy and timeliness
- Post payments and reconcile remittances on excel sheets and system platform
- Follow up on denied claims, identify root causes, and correct errors for resubmission
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims
- Maintain organized records and communicate effectively with internal staff and payers
- Use billing software (experience with Tebra, Therabill & Webpt is a plus)
- Communicate professionally with provider networks and payers
- Maintain compliance with billing regulations and internal policies
- Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience handling physical therapy claims
- Proficiency with Tebra EHR (formerly Kareo) and Webpt.
- Ability to use Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Professional communication skills
- Prior experience in medical billing or claims submission is required
- Familiarity with Tebra, Webpt and Therabill is a bonus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
