Website Manager / Generalist Virtual AssistantOverview
We are looking for a highly capable, English-fluent Website Manager / Generalist Virtual Assistant to support two growing businesses:
- A tax preparation service
- A kids’ bike lessons business
This role is ideal for someone who is resourceful, proactive, and able to take ideas or instructions and turn them into completed work without constant supervision.
You will be responsible for handling a mix of website updates, automation tasks, and general business support. The goal of this role is to remove time-consuming tasks from the business owner’s workload and ensure things get done efficiently and correctly.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for a mix of website, administrative, and automation tasks, including:
- Managing and updating WordPress websites
- Editing website content, pages, and service sections
- Implementing new ideas and improving website structure
- Handling simple but time-consuming digital tasks independently
- Assisting with business automations and recurring workflows
- Building or improving automations using tools such as Zapier
- Supporting form setup and workflow organization for the tax business
- Using AI tools to complete tasks efficiently (writing, structuring, adapting prompts)
- Tailoring content and workflows for different businesses
- Taking rough ideas and turning them into completed outcomes
You may also assist with:
- Canva graphics or simple design work
- General online support tasks
- Miscellaneous administrative or operational work
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Able to understand instructions clearly and execute without constant back-and-forth
- Comfortable working independently and solving problems
- Experienced with WordPress
- Familiar with or willing to learn automation tools like Zapier
- Strong at using AI tools productively
- Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
- Comfortable handling a variety of tasks across different areas
- A fast learner with a proactive mindset]
Preferred Experience
Experience in the following is a strong advantage:
- WordPress content updates and page building
- Website structure and service page setup
- Workflow automation
- AI-assisted work or prompt usage
- Virtual assistant or operations support
- Canva or basic design tasks
Work Structure
- Part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week to start)
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time role based on performance
- Some overlap with Toronto / Eastern Time is preferred
- Flexible schedule as long as tasks are completed and communication is strong
