Job Duties:

Requirements: 


Knowledge of research and review of medical treatment records.

Medical knowledge is a must. The ability to review large quantities of pages of medical

and service records with a high degree of accuracy. Associate page numbers of

medical files with medical conditions.


Responsibilities: 


Review evidence (medical files) and flag pages which are relevant

to medical conditions that have been identified. Associate evidence pages to one or

more conditions under review. Highlight important areas of pages. When requested,

author a medical opinion related to the likelihood of a medical condition being related

to a veteran’s service or service-connected condition.


Ideal Candidate: 


This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who would like to

use their skills outside of direct patient care who has a strong command of the English

language. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly read medical and legal records,

which may be handwritten or typed, and identify pages which are relevant to the

client’s legal case. For example, if the client is currently diagnosed with low back

degeneration, the employee would look through all records for times when the client

was seen previously for low back pain or injuries that can cause low back

degeneration.
