We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Medical Biller to join our physical therapy team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for processing and managing medical billing for patient services, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining patient confidentiality. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, Tebra, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
2- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
Handle insurance denials, adjustments, and appeals.
3- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
4-Post patient payments and update account information as necessary.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information in compliance with HIPAA.
Perform various administrative tasks related to billing, such as verification and authorizations, occasionally.
Requirements:
1- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or associate’s degree preferred.
2- Minimum of 3 months of experience in medical billing or related field.
3- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), modifiers, and insurance processes.
4- Proficiency with billing software and MS Office Suite. Prior history of experience using Webpt and Tebra is a plus. Must have knowledge with using excel sheets.
5- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
7- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
8- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
